On a certain Monday at the stroke of midnight, a certain little witch was burning the midnight oil. Among piles of papers, notes, and books Flora sat her desk working . It was obvious she was up to something and as she wrote quickly filling pages with ink, one after the other, it was easy to tell she was on to something big.
"But... kukuku... If I the fazooka here, then put these three lulubobs here... then add this Kabooboo in over here... no no no. Kuku, that’s not it. The Kabooboo has to go over here, like this. Yes, kuku. That’s better. Everything is starting to happaddy very nicely now. Kukuku, yes… I see so now we just need to add up the remaining fazookas and then I think I’ll be very close, kukuku.. "
On the pages in front of her, Flora scribbled diagrams and figures, quick scripts of texts, strings of numbers, and magical formulae.
“I’m making much more progress today than I thought I would… kuku.”
Flora checked the time.
“Ah! Kuku, I didn’t realize it was so very late!”
Looking down at her notes, Flora sighed.
“Looks like it’s going to be a late night, kuku! I can’t stop here or else I’ll lose my place! Kukuku, I’m making so much progress right now that I don’t want to stop! Kuku, so then I won’t!”
Flora reached for a mug that she had situated near her, yet out of the way. Grasping the mug firmly, Flora brought it to her lips and after a few chugs placed the mug back down.
“Kuku, nothing beats chocolate syrup, extra sugar, and marshmallows when it comes to real brain food, kuku! This drink is the lifeblood that will lead me to ultimate victory over the mysteries of mana, kuku!”
Flora took another deep swig then put the mug down while wiping her mouth on her forearm.
"Kukuku, my Copy magic really threw me for a loop, kukuku, but I knew this wasn't the end of things. Kukuku, it was just the beginning! It took me sometime but I finally realized that when I had made that other potion to make my grimoire more flexible, kukuku, I miscalculated! Kukuku, but I definitely was not wrong, kuku."
Flora crossed her arms looking smugly at her research.
"Miscalculations happen to the best of us, kuku, but it doesn't matter because I accomplished what I wanted! Kukuku, I wanted a grimoire that could use all types of mana and spells and I got that! Kuku, not exactly the way I wanted, kukuku, because I have to copy them and can't make my own, but even so it was a success! My grimoire can hold an unlimited amount of magics, kukuku, and I can learn each of the spells instinctually just by touching someone's grimoire."
Flora stopped, got up, and began pacing across her room as she thought.
"Oh! That reminds me. Kuku, I need to figure out an easier way to touch people's grimoires, kuku. Most people are very private about their grimoires, kukuku, so running up and asking or trying to touch them is difficult. Plus, if they're trying to attack you they probably won't let you get that close in the first place. Kuku, quite the conundrum. But I'll worry about that later! It's time to get back to work, kuku!"
Returning to her desk, Flora sat down and got back to work.
"That was a nice breather, kuku! And now... let's see. This part looks right, kuku. And the fazooka and the lulubobs look to be in order. Yes, kukuku. So far so good! But what about backwards to double check my magooz! So going backwards, kukuku. This goes here. And then this. Annnnd then here... kukuku, carry the lulubob and we get to this... kuku, yes! Good so far! Now just for the last part, kuku. A little bit here... and a little there... and... done! Kuku, now let's see!"
Flora picked up the piece of paper and began going over it checking all of her magooz. After double and triple checking, she raised her hand in victory.
"Kukuku.... I've done it! This is it! Kukukuku... I've figured it out! All the pieces are in place! Kukuku, now I'll just need to test it out! ... an assistant or two! Hmm... I suppose I'll just send out some ravenmail."
Flora made her way to the window and stuck her head out.
Somewhere in the distance, an echo kaw resounded.
"Oh good, kuku, there was one nearby."
In no time at all, a large black raven flew into Flora's room and perched on her chair.
"Where's the... kuku... where did I put it now."
The raven gave an annoyed 'kaw'.
"Yes, yes, just a minute, kuku. Ah, here we go!"
Under a pile of clothes, Flora found a small pouch. She promptly dumped some of the contents of the pouch, seeds, into her palm and fed it to the bird. When the bird was done eating, she handed the bird a letter.
"To Seren, please, kuku."
With that, the bird immediately flew out of the window, letter in tow.
"That's one, kukuku... now for the other... oh! I know! Kuku, I'll bring along Wednesday. I remember she said she was staying in town at the local hotel, kuku. I'll go get her before I head out."
Flora was visibly excited as she climbed up on her bed and began jumping.
"Kukukuku! Soon, I'll have my blood magic back! It was a long hard process, kuku, and I've had to work very very hard, but finally I see the end in sight! Kukuku, I wonder what form my blood magic will take?! Will it be invisible like before, or just normal, or will it be able to copy other spells like my copy witch magic does? Kukuku, there's so many questions! But the most important thing, kuku, is that with my blood magic back, kuku, I will be a proper... umm... a proper... kuku, I don't remember the word. But I guess that would make me like what they call ladies in line for the throne here in Clover! Kuku, Princess! Kukuku, once I'm officially recognized, kuku, I will be Witch Princess Copy Witch Flora, Phantom Flower of the Blue Rose! Kukukukukuku!"
Flora was too excited to sleep that night.
