Stepping out of the portal the exam representative had been so kind as to take time to form Aznable stepped from the regal decor of the exam offices into the much more humble settings of a picturesque countryside village. The sun was high in the crystal-clear sky. The sudden transition from the comparatively dimly lit exam office into the brightness of day was enough to make one's eyes water. After a short moment she was forced to blink her eyes, moving her right hand upward to shield her eyes from the midday sun.
"Great..." She murmured to herself as the portal closed behind her, it's blue-colored aura shirking quickly till it eventually seemed to pop out of existence. She brought the still-lit cigarette to her lips, wrapping them around its end as she took a final long, exasperated drag of it. After a long moment she tossed the cigarette to the ground, stepping on it with her foot as she lazily shuffled it in an effort to ensure the embers were put out.
She pulled the hood of her black cloak down over her face a bit more, obscuring the light so that she could get a better look at where she had been dropped of for this exam. This was ultimately a waste of time, as she had no actual interest in joining the Wizard King's personal lap dogs, but appearing might lead to some better job opportunities.
Looking forward now to the area seemed like an ordinary little village. The kind of places she usually did her business in. This, however, wasn't a real village. This was a simulation set up for the purposes of testing potential recruits. In front of her was a dirt road, the soil seeming to be freshly upturned and formed. There were no wagon ruts or heavy wear from frequent foot traffic like one would see on an actual country side road. She took a few steps towards it, squating to examine the type and quality of the soil.
She then remembered that another person has joined her on this exam. A tall, muscle bound brutish-looking man with silver hair. He's had his own portal opened for him that had obviously placed him in a different area then she had been sent. They had been instructed to work together during the brief overview of the scenario that a rather young-looking orange haired man. Practically a kid really. He had introduced himself as some sort of big shot in one of the Magic Knights, but she hadn't really been listening at that point. Didn't really matter.
Standing up she brushed the loose dirt from her knees and looked around to see if she could spot the big lug that she was tasked with working with. She might not care one way of the other about actually passing this thing but he was probably a different story.
"Oy! Bruiser! Where'd they dump you?" She called out, cupping her hands over her mouth to get the most out of her call. He couldn't have been dropped off to far away. It was then that she realized she didn't actually know his name. Had he introduced or was introduced to her? She certainly hadn't given hers. She hadn't even spoken to the brute before walking through the portal.

Sebastian Silva didn't exactly despise the event, but he didn't see the true purpose in it or rather he saw it's only benefit as a means to train oneself rather than actually try to get placement on a squad. In fact Sebastian always refused or was denied an offer to any of the Magic Knight squads, though this year his friends had mentioned actually giving it a go for real this time, the brute remained hardly moved.
Luckily for him Sebastian's wait time after signing up was short lived after filling himself with a hearty stew, ale, and then deep sleeping until he was awoken by a friend, mentioning he had been called upon for a mission task.
Oh joy, the first stage of his Exam was a paired mission, the thought of which left him wanting a spar instead. Nonetheless he'd plow through a glass of cranberry juice before grabbing a bagel with cream cheese, rushing on out the door while tying his pants off, he was late, but he'd catch up. Eventually arriving on the scene, yet still late, Sebastian would be promptly teleported away before he even got to really get a good look at his mission partner or they of him.
Falling to the cobblestone street that spread through a village, or at least where the housing was, Sebastian would land firmly on his feet while finishing off his bagel and cream cheese, yawning as he began to slowly glance around the area. His ears would prick up then, his Animal Instincts notifying him of a girl's pleas nearby, "Brute".
" Heh... "
Luckily for the girl Sebastian wasn't bothered by the derogatory term Brute, quite the contrary actually. Still despite his lack of indifference he didn't initially seek out the girl as she did him, instead he'd begin patrolling the area as a sort of Farmer's Market trade was going on. Beginning his light stretching before straining his neck from left to right Sebastian would make his way to the center of the immediate area, his eyes, ears, and nose all working in sync while attempting to remain on his toes.
" Nothing yet...Everyone smells like dirt and manure....Hmm, can't discern anyone by clothing either....And they must be prepared otherwise their heart beats would be racing or they'd be whispering to each other right before the act.
But, just as everything had seemed relaxed and fine Sebastian's walk would be interrupted, his eyes catching sight of a burly man lacking a shirt, leaving his hairy and sweaty hide glistening in the Sun meanwhile his ears would prick up once more, the sound of another robbery going on nearby. So they were working in tandem, but hitting seperate stalls.
Or at least attempting to.
In a surge of speed Sebastian would burst forward, deftly swimming through the civilian crowd before both of his hands found the belt of the burly man standing on top of the small jewelry stall demanding all of the merchant's goods in a bag. Yanking on the belt while turning his own body Sebastian would come to power bomb the hulking figure onto his back // upper shoulders and neck // head.
" SLAM DUNKED! Oof, you're a big fellow huh bub?! "
Chuckling to himself Sebastian would begin to stalk his foe, methodically walking around them before yelling out loud to distract the next thief if only momentarily, hoping his back up was nearby just in case. Sebastian could fight both, but he couldn't ensure all of the stalls would remain safe as well.
" Hey skinny boy, you're gorilla friend over here is about to get these hands, you want in on this shit show buddy?! "
Pausing in his attempt to rob the blacksmith vendor the second thief would glare at the unfolding scene some twenty feet ahead of him, a toned silver hair figure walking around his ally and friend, a brute of a man overwhelmed by a chisel?
In that moment their Grimoire would come to life, swinging about and glowing orange.
The thief's anger was rising, especially after then beginning to witness his friend being strangled by Sebastian in a kneeling reverse choke hold. +3 M/s Speed Boost Jr Damage Done to Wind Thief
There had been no response to her call out. Perhaps he had been placed on the other side of this mock up of a typical countryside village that had been so carefully layed out for the purposes of this examination. With a heavy sigh of pure exasperation she broke out into a short perambulation towards what would be the village promenade.
The dirt road ended abruptly into a cobblestoned street. As she moved into the crowd milling around the for the farmer's market she noticed the beginning of a fracas taking place. It appeared as if her concern about her partner running in head first like a maniac had been warranted after all.
Digging in the pocket of her cloak she reached for a cigarette. Suddenly she felt the urge to light another. Striking a match on the side of her pack, she placed it between her lips as she stepped forward to see just what was going on, mingling into the circle of people that had formed around the incident. A large, muscle bound fellow had a man in the midst of a brutal choke hold.
Her partner's actions were unexpectedly brutal considering the situation. But, he was providing a nice distraction. Aznable moved quietly through the started crowd of actors, and as she arrived to the section of the crowd behind the still-standing man she could tell he was unsure what to do. His partner was in serious risk. Would the man who held him let go if he started to smash the stall? It was certainly a bad situation to find one's self in. Moving out from the crowd she casually made her way up behind him. Taking a final draw on her cigarette, she tosses it aside as she jams her finger into his back, trying to mimic the feel of a wand.
"Give up now and my partner lets go of your friend. Your Grimoire continues to glow and I turn your back into a sunburned nightmare, not to mention what my partner might do to your partner. One slip of his arm and this robbery simulation could turn into a very real homicide "

§ As he kept the behemoth of a man in the choke hold Sebastian would come to apply, slowly, but surely, more force to the submission while also pressing his bent knee into their back for additional emphasis on top of it all. His intense gaze would come to fall upon a lone figure seemingly approaching the other thief from behind and then things seemed to fall into place accordingly, his partner threatening the other Mage in hopes of ending things swiftly and without causing too much damage.
Oh, the boring type, heh, well least I can do is have some fun...
Ears twitching Sebastian would keenly listen to his partner's threat to the thief, going along with it with a sneer Sebastian seemingly go on to then snap the huge man's neck before dropping them lifelessly to the cobblestone street. Gasps and awhs would echo out then as Sebastian pointed at the Fire thief in the distance, then in just a few moments the thief who had been verbally and visually threatened would pass out from sheer shock as well as fear. Lowering his hand while bringing both of them then to his belly Sebastian would erupt into laughter, mortifying everyone nearby. Fighting through his cackling he'd manage to explain himself before anyone attempted to kill him for murder.
" Haha, oh my, haha, that was good...Anyways, don't worry he's not dead, he's just passed out. I didn't snap his neck, just choked him out and popped my knuckles at the right time, it's a neat party trick, haha, heehee! "
Another reason why the lad was a Silva outcast.
Turning his gaze then back to his would be partner Sebastian would wave them on to join him before they were teleported away again, it was time for a true introduction.

The crack as the silver hair, muscled bound man jerked the neck of the fellow in the midst of his chokehold seemed to echo through the now silent marketplace. It was one of those moments of horror that one can only ever truly experience to witness the death of another human. His smile grew as his arms released the man who limply slumped to the ground in a way that reminded her of how sacks of feed use to fall over back on the farm. There were loud gasp of shock as the man focused his attention on the one in front of her.
As the brawny seemingly murderer pointed a single finger at him the man who stood in front of her fell backwards into her. She stepped back with as much grace as she could manage, stumbling slightly as she allowed the gentleman to land onto the cobblestone paving back first. At this sight the fellow whom she had been partnered to let out what was at first insane cackling that slowly morphed into something more resembling amusement.
As he explained that no actual harm had come to his apparent victim, demonstrating the knuckle-cracking trick used to simulate the neck break, she would take the moment to pull out her third cigarette in the last ten or so minutes. As she struck the match, the scent of sulfur filling the air, a couple men ran by her to check on the two now lying on the ground. Thinking for a moment she found herself slightly impressed by the fellow's use of a practical effect to achieve the desired illusion. In a world where magic was king the art of practicality was as rare as it was effective. The man turned to introduce himself as a single portal opened up behind him leading back to the examination hall.
"Aznable." She muttered, the cigarette clenched lightly between her premolar and molar teeth so that she could somewhat speak. Her hands were hidden, covered by her cloak as she stepped forward to pass through the portal.
"Names are for friends. Learn to use an alias if you are going to cause a commotion, else you hurt the family name Nobleboy."
And with that she entered the portal to hear the opinions of the graders.
