The sun shone brightly over the beautiful castle. Out of the rays of beautiful beams, shadows crept onto the citizenry living within the castle walls. Nearing the gate, a man could be seen, satchel on his back, filled with the belongings of the past year. Jishin was back. He had received word - he was a member of golden dawn after all the fighting he has done for his kingdom. Jishin was ecstatic- after failing last knights magic exam, coming back to the best squad in the kingdom was a godsend. However, Jishin knew he had to work twice as hard to stay there. He wasn't worried- his experience as a fighter would carry him greatly in this way.
Jishin walked through the castle gate, flashing his new golden dawk cloak that he has gotten sent to him during the battles. He was looked on into the castle as he walked into the streets, going directly towards the first restaurant he could see. He was famished, and he would need to feed as soon as he could.
As he ordered his food and drink, he thought back to the previous year, where he barely realized he was just a brat with half royalty blood. While he was technically a noble of the Blake family, and being a second cousin to Valentine, he still had to claim his rights as a magic knight by showing that he is stronger then his blood. He hoped that the royal bourgeoisie would accept him if he showed his strength in battle and in defending the kingdom. But as of right now, he was just a meager GD Magic Knight. He had to prove his worth.
Jishin looked up at the sky, wondering what the day would bring to him. Hopefully it would be a great one- he did just get back!

Nobuyuki was one of those girls with an entirely forgettable existence, even within her own organization one might believe. She had done decent enough work but that didn't really matter very much in the grand scheme of things. What had she been doing since the great war conflict? Well, she normally was the one who supported the battlefield from the backlines with golems and explosive spells. She also constructed barriers for the knights of Clover. Now, she was utilizing her clay magic for simpler things, namely the construction of bricks for reconstruction. It was bringing a decent amount of income back home, thank goodness for that. However, she found herself mostly disappointed with her skills at the time being. She needed far more work, because she was becoming rather sloppy if she so thought about it. Nobuyuki Odayakama felt as if she needed to put in more effort to progress herself, the short thing she was. Though then she had to ask herself what she wanted to improve for. Her motivations were simple and good.
For her family of course. The Odayakama were nobles but they were largely poor if not for Nobuyuki making gold and selling bricks on the side for a supply of coin to help support their family. She prayed they'd do well soon. As she sadly lowered her head, she entered the current establishment with a hint of caution. The last time she went out to eat, someone called her a little girl and that sent her into a grand state of depression. Sure, she was rather short, but that didn't mean anything! She wasn't jail bait, she was the genuine beauty and everyone needed to know that someday. Staff lightly pressing onward, she entered the restaurant before her in question dubbed "Gold Bond." It seemed like a good place to stop for a bite to eat if anything. The Black Bull Junior didn't mind pressing inward and seating herself down before the front counter, lightly twiddling with her fingers as she waited for a menu.
"Ah ah...hrm. I'll have the special club sandwich and some potato stew please." If the man sitting next to her thought of his inferiority issues in terms of rank, then Nobuyuki would have had a nice debate on how he was in a better off position. Well, maybe, if she could be brought up to it. Instead, the young and childish looking Knight firmly gazed upon their grimoire by their side, half wondering if she should train some new spells despite not having much in her repertoire other than the creation of golems and barriers. A better golem perhaps. Better barrier. Ultimately, her skill in that regard had certainly improved, but she felt if something new would be needed. Creation of golems allowed her to make more of them and maintain them. There were rare instances she had to get involved in a fight herself. Yeah...something new to protect herself! Ultimately, she seemed a little sad. As she kicked her legs back and forth like a child, she half imagined all of the struggles of her family and how she was going to support them all further. Maybe she was being too foolish here lately.
Maybe Odayakama Nobuyuki needed to apply herself in other areas! Besides, she wasn't so bad right?...She'd muse to herself before lightly twirling her staff within her hands, her family heirloom item. Yeah...maybe another job or perhaps a dungeon would do nicely to help her with her current situation. Otherwise it was going to get a little bit difficult doing much else with her current position. Not like she had anyone to help her by buying a considerable amount of bricks or anything like that from her right? Right.

[attr="class","manalishiltop3"]I'll get back up as many times as necessary!
Pollux had taken a day off after arriving to the Royal Capital. He had not been here in a while, and just checking out the sights was something he had been looking to do. The place had change quite a bit for a year, maybe because it was the war. Or maybe people just wanted a new start after the past few years of pain and suffering under the Diamond Kingdom. Or maybe it was the nobility who looked towards building a brighter future and distracting the commoners by making new and shiny things. Pollux didn't really know, nor did he care. For the most part, he just wanted a breath of fresh air. Something new and exciting. Something that was not the Forsaken Region.[break][break]
That thought made him pause. The Forsaken Region had been his solace for a very long time. For a year, he had spent most of his time in and around the area, scouring for his mother. He wasn't sure if he would ever find her, and sadly, he did not. The woman was great at running away, hiding in corners, never turning back, leaving twists and turns that people who might be tailing her would not be able to untangle. Her location was unknown to everybody save her. Sightings made sure she was alive and mostly well, but that was it. When the news of a sighting of the Prima heir's mother would arrive to his ears, she would have been three towns passed already. Pollux could not pin her down, and he was not sure why she was hiding from her own son.[break][break]
Pollux sighed deeply, releasing his frustrations that bubbled up from the surface. He kept it all down, especially during his dungeon run with his master, or during the mission with his Squad Mate, the bucket headed man. He kept his cool, emotions that threatened to burst were held back with great effort. He felt like a dam, ready to burst, yet still keeping everything bottled up. Failure chief among the thoughts that pervaded his mind. Failure, not only because of not being able to find his mother, but also not taking the year off from the Magic Knight Squad to improve himself. While now considered and Intermediate Magic Knight, he knew he still had a long way to go, and his break from the Golden Dawn did not help matters. Instead of training with his spare time, he had obsessed over finding his mother. This left him behind, his peers already achieving feats that were beyond his capacity. He felt disgusted with himself. He felt failure.[break][break]
But before he could muse further, Pollux saw two things at the corner of his eye. First was a Black Bull Magic Knight, seemingly unaware that they were causing civilians to stop and stare at them. The Black Bulls were still considered as a beloved Magic Knights Squad, an elite squad that were made up of the weird and the eccentric. Their fame reached across the Diamond Kingdom. The second he saw was a member of his own squad, the Golden Dawn. Pollux did not notice the man, but his Mantle told him that he was a member. Without taking a second, Pollux turned towards the Golden Dawn Squad Member and waved, still keeping an eye on the Black Bulls members.[break][break]
"Hey there, are you a new member of the squad?" Pollux asked, "Been away for a year, so we might have not met, or my memory is just really bad." The silver-haired Golden Dawn Mage scratched his head comically. He held out his hand for a shake, a friendly gesture. "Pollux, by the way. Pollux Prima." It was always important to create bonds with your Squad mates. They were, after all, your potential partners, and may one day be the one responsible for saving your life in a dire situation. He turned towards the Black Bulls girl now, who seemed to have gone into a restaurant of sorts.[break][break]
The restaurant made his stomach growl, as though conditioned to do so when seeing such a nice place to eat. Time within the Forsaken Region has taught him the value of valuing food within the Noble Region. Good food was hard to find, especially when potatoes were the main ingredients for almost everything within the Forsaken Region. He took stock of the place quickly, noting that it was at least affordable. After all, he might be a mage, and a noble, but he was not out to use all of his inheritance stupidly and without care. "That restaurant seems like a good place, and my stomach is growling. Do you, by chance, want to share a meal? My treat of course." Pollux asked the Golden Dawn member he had just met. Plus, he might be able to make friends with the Black Bulls girl as well. Having many friends was never a bad thing!

It was starting to get lively. Jishin was extremely tired, but he knew that after being away for so long - and being a part of the legendary Golden Dawn organization - meant that he would need to start making do-goods with all the other magic knight squad members and even his own team. His body was a bit tense, but he eased his mind a little to shrug off his fight or flight response. The years being kept as a member of a gang in his old village lingered in his vessels, the memory carrying the physical and emotional scars that make him who he is today.
Jishin unclenched his fist as the area got warmer. Two people were near his presence - one, a very young Black Bulls magic knight. The other, a member of the golden dawn, much like he. The Golden Dawn member introduced himself, opening up for conversation with Jishin, and perhaps Jishin's first foray into the world of Magic Knight communication.
"Hey! Uh..." Jishin said, trailing off. The enthusiasm from the Magic Knight was off-putting for a man who is used to looking over his shoulder, but he shrugged it off instantly and continued.
"Yes! I am a new member. Or, I guess I am a new member here? I've been a member for a long time, but I've been away due to the war. I finally have had a chance to come back. My name is Jishin Hayato. Nice to meet you."
"Absolutely! I'd love to get to know some of my squad members before I go to headquarters. As someone who has never been to the castle before, it can be a bit overwhelming." Jishin said, gesturing for the seat empty next to him (on the opposite side of Nobuyuki).
Jishin was already analyzing the two next to him. While he could not tell their levels of power compared to him, he knew they were battle-torn as well. He could not help himself, as the pains and anxiety from the past made him naturally fearful of others. Something he was trying to work on, but knew that others might not take kindly to being intently stared at for a second. It did look like Jishin lost his train of thought for a moment to the outside world.
As soon as the Pollux would sit down, Jishin turned to the Black Bull member as well. It's not that he wanted to ignore her- rather, he was curious as to how a girl so young could become a magic knight, when he was sure there was an age qualification.
"Hey... uh..." Jishin started as he turned to the other magic knight in black garb.
"I see you are also a Magic Knight. Pretty impressive for your age, if I do say so." Jishin said, hoping that his qualifier gave her the boost of confidence. He did not know how old this young woman was, and he was oblivious to that. There was a slight inclination to thinking that all short people are younger then he lest they have gray hair or wrinkled skin, and being 6'2, almost everyone WAS shorter.

Sweatdrop. Sweatdrop. Sweatdrop. Positioned between two Magic Knights of another squad was one awkward situation. It was a whole new thing entirely when they were members of the Golden Dawn. Awkwardly staring on ahead, she tried not to get too caught up in their conversation, but it was then that she was quite literally dragged into the discussion. Turning her head to Jishin as she was confronted with the sudden statement that it was impressive to become a magic knight at her age? Her face twisted as purple lines went over her head, mouth agape as it twitched in disbelief at such a statement. "A-A-Ach-Agh..." It was then that she slowly slowly found her food deposited before her, her head turning as she lowered her head, slowly pulling her hat over her head as she slowly lifted her sandwich with shaky hands, taking a bite. "Aomh..." Three chews before she puffed out a small sigh of disbelief.
'At my age...' She would slowly think as she took a major emotional blow to her heart. She was twenty damn it! Twenty whole years old, and they still thought she was a little kid?! She wasn't the jailbait! She was supposed to be the genuine beauty! Slowly cuddling her staff to herself, she half wondered just how young they thought she was. A 5'2" youthful looking girl. Was it wrong to be short and to have a youthful face? Heck no! Then again, she would slowly rest her sandwich down, gazing at the two with a bit of a question in her mind as she wondered what in the world was going on. Why it was that she was being subjected to such savage assaults of words towards her character. However, deciding it would be rude to end the conversation just like that, she decided to continue on.
"My name is Nobuyuki. Nobuyuki Odayakama. Nice to meet you..." She said with a bit of a cute pout on her face, her lips curled up as if she had taken some major offense to the evil words that man said to her. Age. AHHHH! Whatever the case, she would then formally introduce herself followed by her rank and what it was she did in her squadron more or less. "I'm an intermediate third class, as well as support specialist for my squad. My specialties lie in creating golems and barriers for my allies, and I helped fight for the cause during the war." She would give a firm two finger salute before slowly twisting in her seat towards her food, taking a spoonful of hot potato stew. Perhaps despite the rough awakening at what people thought of her age?
She could make some friends here. She really did need them after all. She was doing a lot of fighting and other oddities at her age, and she had yet to fully acquaint herself with the niceties of the job. Her life was very menial after all. Doing missions here and there, creating and selling clay bricks for reconstruction after the wartime, granted it was making her nice money on the side for her family and what not in addition to the salary she was making after being promoted. It was a lot to think about. Her family was doing semi better now and things looked like they were going to be okay for the Odayakama family. However, with that noted, she slowly wondered what her future would hold seeing her family seemed to be semi more stable in their life. Ah...maybe she ought to think about it a bit more and see what she might find enticing. Real estate? Just continue her military career as is? Eh, not like she'd become fantastic or anything.
That was a dream wasn't it? Some sort of delusional thought? She didn't quite know. Maybe she'd ask these fellows.

[attr="class","manalishiltop3"]I'll get back up as many times as necessary!
Pollux would be sitting with the other two Magic Knights. Golden Dawn and Black Bulls, once polar opposites, not almost of the same renown. Pollux liked to think that the Golden Dawn still possesses the higher caliber of mages within the realm, and amongst the Magic Knight Squads. However, he knew that was bias coming out of him. He could not help it, after all, he was a Golden Dawn mage himself. He needed to show pride in his own Magic Squad, though for the most part, the pride was not misplaced at all. They had members who showed high caliber magical potential, and their Captain was definitely no slouch in the battlefield. Pollux himself was slowly catching up himself, looking towards competing as one of the strongest mages found within his Magic Squad.[break][break]
"Well then, welcome back. My name is Pollux, Pollux Prima." Pollux would introduce himself as he ordered his own food. he had been famished, and so grabbed something without hesitation. "And yes, the Golden Dawn Headquarters can be very intimidating to start. But you should be fine. You're a Golden Dawn member after all, so nobody will bat an eye. If they do, just give me a heads up and we'll put them in their place. There is no room for divisive members within our ranks after all." If there was one thing Pollux liked about the Golden Dawn under the Captaincy of Zaven Blake, it was that the divisive nature within the ranks was being culled. Nobility and commoners, it did not matter to the current Captain. It was all about merit.[break][break]
He realized afterwards that Jishin seemed to have turned to their companion, the Black Bulls mage that Pollux had seen earlier. From a quick glance, Pollux would have made the same observation that the young woman was just that, young. She would look to be early to mid teens, maybe even late teens if he was being generous. Yet, from experience, Pollux knew looks can be very deceiving. He himself looked quite young, yet was already in his early twenties. He would reserved his judgement however, and just listen in to the conversation that was happening between the two while he waited for his food to arrive. The sandwich was not hard to make, so it should not take too long, but he was hungry, and every minute felt like an hour and fourty minutes. His stomach growled in protest, but Pollux paid it no mind.[break][break]
And then the Black Bulls mage would introduce herself, though frowning. Maybe Jishin had missed a cue, and had guessed her age wrong. Maybe she was older than she looked, and most likely was miffed at being identified as younger. Pollux did not blame the girl, after all, being called very young would irk someone who was likely in their late teens to early twenties. Pollux would take stock of the girl, and listen to her introduction. Her rank, and her magical specialties, seemed to be for someone who was much more experienced. True, she could be someone young, a prodigy, but it likely was not the case. She probably was a little older than she looked, that would explain her rank. As well, she mentioned her role in the war against the Diamond Kingdom. The Clover Kingdom was not one to send children to war, unlike the Diamond scum, and so she definitely was older than she looked.[break][break]
It was at this time that Pollux stepped in. "Sorry if my Squad Mate made a mistake about your age, miss. You look quite young, and I admit, it also threw me off. But your youthful appearance definitely has its charm and its own unique beauty that attaches to it." Pollux tried his best to smile charmingly, placating the young woman as much he could. "But your magic is what intrigues me the most. Golems, you say? I use golems as well, though I usually use to it supplement my other spells and my fighting style. Are you by chance a pure golem user?" He had never met a pure golem user, those who had complete mastery, and therefore were able to summon legions of golems because of their high control over their mana. They did exist, but Pollux had never met one at all.[break][break]
His sandwich finally arrived, however, and he quickly delved into it. His stomach would not have it any way. It demanded attention, and Pollux gave it sustenance. He would look on as his Squad Mate might make his own comments and observations. The girl might also make her remarks about his comments, but he'll eat his sandwich first before replying.

Jishin was a bit sad. He didn't mean to insult this person- which he seemingly did, after seeing the hurt and thoughtful expression on her face. He also did so in front of a new squad mate- something he also did not intend to do. He was a bit careless with words many times, as he never really worked on great conversation skills growing up, spending too much time fighting for his right to live in the ghetto. Nevertheless, Jishin knew he had to make up for it. He felt like these people would be invaluable to know as he journeyed upward in life.
"I am really sorry Nobuyuki! I made a mistake with your age, I thought you were way younger but that was just a pure misconception on my part!", Jishin said, putting his hand behind his back, his body language showing that he was slightly embarrassed for both himself and the woman in front of him for putting her on the spot like that.
Noted: Stop talking about a woman's age.", Jishin thought to himself, writing it down as a conversation error in his mind. He continued listening to the two talk in front of him, and Nobuyuki (who I will shorten to Nobu since it is easier to type) said she was a support type. This definitely piqued his interest. Pollux already expressed interest, so until Jishin had anything to add, he would stay silent, intent on learning more about this support golem magic. It was definitely new to him- his magic was a bit on the darker side compared to others, with many people claiming he is the devil after seeing it occur. He has also never seen a golem, which he decided to add to the end of Pollux's question.
"To add on to what Pollux here said: what does your golems look like? I've never seen one myself.", Jishin, making sure to ask the question before Nobu could answer Pollux's.
Jishin's food arrived with everyone else's food (coincidentally of course). It was a gorgeous roast beef sandwich with brown mustard and various other delicacies. There were fries on the side (of course), which Jishin started eating first, saving the sandwich for after the fries, since that was an important order in eating food.
Jishin then turned to Pollux after hearing Nobu describe her magic (: which I assume she does?), wanting to know more about his fellow squad mates magic.
"What about you, Pollux, what's your magic like? I am quite interested, especially since you are on the same squad as me!" Jishin asked. He was excited his new journey was starting so well, these two seemed very kind and nice and would be great companions on any adventure if Jishin so chose to take one.

The apology for mistaking age was a good start. However, there was a pass when she was suddenly called beautiful and charming in her own Nobuyuki way. She tilted her head with a slight snrk of happiness at hearing that she indeed was the genuine beauty as opposed to jail bait. As a result, she was appeased. Besides, she heard the fact that this Pollux figure was a Golem user as well, though as supplements to other spells. "Well...that's right. I focus on the craftsmanship of golems. I was never particularly strong or good at combat, so I was typically the support specialist. My magical element is Clay. I've only recently planned on expanding my magical repertoire, to make a wider variety of golems types and otherwise. In the war, you might have found me staying closer to the middle lines, sending golems or creating barriers to ward off enemy assaults at areas such as medical tents or otherwise. I was never really anything impressive I suppose..." Thinking deeply and seriously on the moment, she slowly shifted as she left her food unbeaten for a moment or two. How to explain herself really?
"I almost felt as if I did little for the Clover Kingdom. As if all I could do was send golems or build walls. Now, here I am. An intermediate Knight, working to help however I can and with reconstruction after the war...For what my golems look like? Depends on their purposes. The biggest ones are seven feet or eight, powerful and lugging men with sturdy frames. I use them to load cargo, pull wagons instead of horses, put things together, or to act as shields. Then there's also the Mephistopheles. Little spry things with long blade like arms. Dashing across the battlefields to gain swift attacks or to teat enemy defenses and capabilities. They might run across the battlefields just to see how heavy their defenses are or otherwise." She wasn't some powerhouse combatant, but one thing she knew was that she was more of a tactician, someone who fought smarter due to their own lack of power. However, she would slowly contemplate most everything about her current existence as a Magic Knight. Trying to make her thoughts not overwhelm her, she tilted her hat and returned to her food.
"I'm curious...how old is it you think I am? Be honest with me. Just on looks." What with being 5'2", her high pitched voice, and her bright colors she wore and that naturally youthful look, she imagined they thought of her as a child, and for a few moments, she wondered if that wasn't half wrong. After all, she was still acting on those impulses. She still had childish goals and dreams with her adult responsibilities. Prometheus. She ate eagerly, and with it, they might notice she seemed to deeply think, perhaps not about what, but that she was. Her family was doing well with her shipments she hoped. Gods...
Pollux would listen to the conversation intently, while munching on his own sandwich. It was not as if he was uninterested. Far from it. He was very much interested in learning about the magics of the mages around him. He was interested in learning all he could about magic after all, especially with the different elements that existed. To date, he has had experience with the basest of all elements like fire and wind, and have seen people use really complex ones like sap and even shadow. The most fascinating thing about magic, however, is the fact that one can use their own element in different ways, and mages would often find interesting specialties within their own element, distinguishing themselves against the rest of the mage who used the same element. However, what Pollux had not seen was someone with the same element as him. Actually, scratch that, he realized that he had not seen anybody with the combination of elements as he did. It was rare enough for people to have dual elements, and even more rare for people to be able to combine them into a single spell. His thoughts, however, were jolted as they addressed him by name.[break][break]
“What’s my magic like?” Pollux would ask out loud as he finally finished the sandwich he had ordered. He could not say that it was the best sandwich he’s had, but it was definitely a good sandwich, not worth the price point however. No matter, Pollux would pay the man and leave a tip before rounding towards his companions. “My magic, well, is a bit unique.” He would start, trying to find the right word for his magic and elements. “I am able to command both Lava and Blood, a combination of both my mother and father’s magical element.” It was true, he theorized that his dual element came from both his parents, which was already a curious case as it is. “I often use golems to supplement my fighting style, though I was told that my spells are very destructive in nature.” Pollux would scratch the back of his head awkwardly, realizing that he had said too much, and they probably only wanted to know of his element or something.[break][break]
Pollux would then turn to Nobuyuki, “I find your use of Clay golems to be very fascinating! To help with rebuilding, now that was something I did not think about,” Pollux paused for a moment, before sighing, “My golems are destructive in nature, so I don’t think they would be good with repairing and helping rebuild in the first place.” Lava was just an element that did not go overly well when used in anything aside from combat, unless of course he hardened the Lava to turn it into solid and cooled Magma. That was a different thing altogether, though, and something he had not experimented with just yet.[break][break]
He would then turn back towards Jishin and ask, “How about you, Jishin? What sort of magic do you use?” He had not met the man before, and unlike some of the other Squads like the Azure Deer who was known to be only recruit mages with the Sensory Specialty, “Golden Dawn does not truly recruit specialized mages, so it’s always interesting to learn of my squad mates’ magic and specialties!” He would conclude, before ordering a drink for himself. [break][break]
After ordering, he would hear the young woman ask them about her age. Well, at least, guess her age from her looks alone. If Pollux was to be honest, he had thought that the young woman was about sixteen or seventeen. She might look young, but there was an air about her that made her feel older than she looked. In fact, Pollux thought that she would be just a bit older than seventeen. Maybe eighteen, at least, that was what he felt as he observed her and her mannerisms. “Eighteen.” He would say, tapping his chin as he did so. It was a guess, though Pollux wanted his guess to be somewhat correct. “Maybe? I might say a little bit older than eighteen, though you said that we could only guess through your looks, which leads me to conclude that you’re around the eighteen years of age range.” [break][break]
Pollux would then turn towards Jishin, waiting for his guess. Or maybe he had already guessed. Pollux had been a bit distracted with his thoughts to have noticed. All he knew was that he was now very parched, and his drink had not yet arrived. [break][break]
