feel the light
shining in the dark of the night
| Tsuki always thought of the ocean shore is a gateway, a place where the aquatic and terrestrial worlds collide. From the jagged, the rocky outcrops that meet the rushing waves to the deep bronze said beneath her feet she was feeling at peace. The last week had been a whirlwind to her as she went home, officially took over her position as a star, caught up with her 'sister', and even was close to signing up to becoming a Magic Knight in the squad of her choice.|
It was freeing to know that from this point on she didn't have much to do, but enjoy herself. It was only a matter of time until a magic knight in her future squad would be able to evaluate her and hopefully accept her into the squad. So she walked down the shoreline taking in the scenery and really feeling like she could breathe for the first time in a while. As she walked on she was hit by a memory of venturing to the beach when she was younger. Her dad was always coming to the ocean on his time off which she never understood when she was younger, but she discovered later that her dad was actually homesick and somewhere across the ocean was the Land of the Rising Sun where he was born. It was due to this that he enjoyed skipping rocks and would always tell Tsuki that if she threw it far enough someone across that vast ocean would catch it.
She couldn't help but smile when she noticed the small, wet pebbles that lined the beach that sparkled in the lingering light of sunlight reflected over the ocean. On this particular day, the water was almost still, small waves occasionally hitting the beach with little force. To her it was the perfect environment to really make her dad's "dream" become a reality so she reached down to pick one up, running her thumb over its smooth surface. It was almost perfectly round, with no sharp edges or jagged curves. If there was a stone that would carry across the water it would be this one. She swung her arm back and flicked her wrist, watching the small pebble skip across the surface of the sea.
It skipped about ten times before it finally settled just slightly out of distance from where she could see it. With a smile of satisfaction she stopped and sat down in the spot where she threw the stone and watched as the waves rolled lazily onto the shore. She had no reason to be out there, but she had all the time in the world to do whatever she pleased.
