Sprider was not a good observer. He was strong, powerful, knew grand level magic spells but reading between the lines and observing the sharpest of details was not his thing. On the other hand, his partner ‘Suke looked like the one who could make into the investigation team of the Order easily. Well he was not the Vice Captain of a magic knight squad known for their intelligence just like that. Sprider’s eyes did follow Hikaru to find him picking up a bright stone from the swamp water before he prayed. The aunts from the Vun Village would be proud of him. He smugged and washed off the proud feeling. They were like a second parent to him. 'Suke talked about if they had to swim through the second floor, Sprider would be shaking himself like a Lion’s mane. Sprider added “I might even roar at the swamp boss to be having no cleanliness. 1/10 would not visit this place again.” The second most thing he hated after the evil doers were people who liked to stay in an unclean environment. Like how have not they lost their sanity yet. Sprider would die if he did not set his bed before going out of his room and there were people that lived her. Sprider shook his head as he put an end to the thought. He made up his mind to bathe thoroughly before dining or might even visit the hot springs to wash away all dirty things and stress. Whatever fulfilled the purpose. He had a long day ahead of him. They had not even fought the first floor boss yet. Would it appear just after the second room or would they have to fight another wave of annoying human and prawns hybrid wanting to eat the former species? Only time could tell.
'Suke and Sprider crossed the second room to find themself in a similar setting. Long trees blocking the sunlight and only a few light rays could make it past those green leaves. But this time, the floor was a bit different. Sprider could see only five islands unlike before where there was random swamps and land area. The water did not look shallow like before but deeper. It could be more than three foot at least. He thought. He did not give into much details as he saw the boss. He called him the boss because it was different than those piranhas. It was actually quite big. It had a humanoid shape and was wrapped up in the dirty things the swamp had. Either the person used the swamp materials to cover itself or it was the source. Both options were disgusting. Sprider wished he could throw up to clear his stomach. It looked so horrible that Sprider wished to end it with one hit spells. He did forge new ones in the past few years, that could scathe lands but putting it to test in there was a bit risky. The island they stood on looked destructible and a spell of grand rank would force destroy it and force the duo to swim. He would better die than swim again.
Sprider was going to ask 'Suke on if they would go rounds or what but suddenly 'Suke grew an aura. Sprider took a few steps back. Why in the world do these people glow? He remembered Elise, the girl from Azure Deer do the same. He knew they were physical reinforcing themselves with something strong, but they need not act like a god, glowing aura and bestowing the mankind with their blessing. So did 'Suke want to start first? So it seemed. He took another few steps back and stood on the land. He did not want to sit on such a filthy place where a bit of muddy water would wash the islands corner every few seconds. The waste it carried over to the land was gross. Sprider wanted things to end quickly. His love for sanitary overpowered his love for dining and it was his motivation to stay clean that made him want to end this before snacks time.
He watched the plant man’s grimoire flip pages and forge petals that enveloped 'Suke. More like formed a skin on him. Similar to what Katrina did, if Sprider could remember it correctly. The crazy diamond bitch who attacked aries garse and gave the kingdom some good amount of trouble. It was good to learn from a stronger enemy. He should have learned something too. Like her tentacles but that was too lewd, so he gave up on the idea. She had a similar mana signature, because she possessed diamond which was quite similar to his Crystals. He would wish to fight someone with similar specializations and element. It would be good to ask his Captain and steal some of his spells but then he had fire. The nature of the two elements varied so greatly that Sprider could hardly create any similar spell. He did not even knew what elements other captain had. Like he said before, he was always 'under informed’.
Back to current scenario. 'Suke also created a halo over his head. Sprider was hundred percent sure that 'Suke was one of those people who wanted to be gods. The moment he charged forward, his footsteps left pink petals footprints. His mana was surging through the whole area. Sprider had no more doubts left. 'Suke wanted to be the God of Forest and there was no one who could stop him. The Wizard King should really take in people like him for captains. 'Suke could challenge Glenda one on one once he was grown enough. Not age, but rank wise. Sprider smirked. All these positions people were fighting against for. He did like fighting, his attack and defensive specialization speak for himself, but fighting for positions was lame in his mind. He seeked something more beautiful. Something eternal. Something that could not be challenged. The God.
'Suke’s speed helped him avoid the water. He was skimming above it. Like water insects do. His plant spell was surely aiding in it. In quick seconds he reached the swamp owner and punched his head out. He even blow it off using his knee into his gut. Green and red mist blew out from behind the back of the monster. A one hit knock out. Sprider was happy and sad at the same time. He was happy he did not have to deal with the swamp anymore, but then 'Suke took all the fun of beating a boss. He was perplexed on which emotion should he express. He shook his head and watched 'Suke take on three toddler fishes. Sprider complemented 'Suke’s fighting ability. The use of only one kick to kill all three was unique, he must admit and learn from him.
Sprider was a normal crystal user. Even though he had evolved a lot in terms of character, spells wise they are plain and stagnant. Like nothing changed. He wanted to improve in that aspect and might approach his caption of lions or even the king of wizards for suggestions.
'Suke’s skin fell of, the petals one. He went to collect another one of that shiny stuff. Sprider did not ask about it. Everyone had reasons for what they did. Maybe he was too much into collecting stuff. He said “Thanks for ending it in one shot but you took away all the fun.” He shook his head to express how much he wished to punch the swamp monster for all the bad sanitization of his house. He talked about testing his new spell and even a room for improvement. Sprider nodded his head and was going to ask him to lead the way to second floor, but there were sudden changes in the atmosphere.
The fog turned denser, and even the light from above was cut off. Sprider looked at 'Suke and then back to the environment. The trees started decaying and in fraction of seconds, they turned old, by a lot of years. What the hex? Sprider thought as the water suddenly rose in height. Sprider was panicking because of the sudden change. His heart raced as the temperature dropped a bit.
Sprider sighed and told to 'Suke “We should get going. It will get worse if we stay at the same place for longer period of time.” he had a bad feeling in the gut and he believed his gut more than anything. They would walk over the islands, and about fifteen meters later they would find various lightning bugs lighting up the place a bit. On the way they were met with a few frogs and snakes but this species was new. Did it mean there were enemies around? Because he was itching to send some of them back to the soul palace. The islands also felt a bit more spacious than before. Sprider expected more of those piranhas to show up. He could just one punch them, thanks to 'Suke.
But it was not the case. The swamp water showed signs of anacondas inside it. There were no more piranhas but anacondas now. He shook his head and said “'Suke, i would suggest you the same. Walk over to the next room while i take on these two pesky big snakes.” He would make sure 'Suke could easily cross the place.
He bumped his right fist into his left palm and said “Come on, snakes. Let us roll.” but he was disturbed by two sparrows aiming at him. He dived to his right to avoid them and said “woah, slow down buds.” they were losing feathers with every movement. They swooped up back to a good height and made their way towards Sprider. Sprider knew he had to stop them or else they would hinder his fight with the anacondas. So he let them come at him again, being of almost similar speed, he dodged them yet again. This time it was a close call. One of them just went past his shoulder. He dusted the weather off him. It did not look natural. Well nothing was something he had already seen. Everything looked different than outside.
He stood up and let the two come again at him. He realized that they always flew along side and covered a lateral width of one meter together. He smirked and waited for them to come. This time he created a spherical crystal ball around them as soon as they arrived ten meters around him. The ball trapped them inside and fell to the ground. Even if the birds would try to peck it open, it would not because of the senior strength of the spell. It would not even cause a debuff because of Sprider’s control over it. He would turn his attention back to the anacondas would would slip over the land and make their way towards the crimson knight. They would be slow, almost one fourth of Sprider’s speed. He would tease saying “Even snakes are faster than you big snakes. You better improve yourself, peeps.” He could hear them growl in anger like they understood his taunts.
Sprider would play with them. He knew he should use his mana conservatively and efficiently. He should think of ways. But the first was to avoid them. Even if he was almost four times quick than them, the situation would reverse in water, so he should take care of that. He let them slide close to him. He had produced a plan just at the right time. He started running towards the crystal sphere that had fallen on the floor. He stood just right next to it. The anacondas took two extra seconds to reach for his legs. But he jumped and went behind the ball. With a little push, the ball rolled on them. One of them had moved away from the trajectory of the sphere and was saved. The other anaconda’s body was not able to escape the path. The senior ball crushed over it, impaling the mutated anaconda.
Sprider grinned and watched the hurt anaconda growl. The other one made use of this time and quickly caught hold of Sprider's one leg. It squeezed the leg and pulled it towards himself, into the water. Sprider thought to himself, stop being naive and produced a senior crystal shard out of the ground that went straight past the anaconda that was pulling Sprider. He used his hands to release himself from the anaconda. He then looked at the second one who was already for Sprider's second leg. He said “Not so fast” and produced another senior crystal shard with ease. He did the anaconda the same way. Making the crystal tear the mutated anaconda apart.
The crystal sphere was floating on the water, due to very low density. Sprider looked at it and then at his palm. Then he closed his palm into a fist, ordering two more crystal shards to be produced and attack the crystal sphere. The crystal sphere exploded inside and the old sparrows were targeted by very small crystal shards from every direction. The sparrow went lifeless in just a second. Their body floated on the swamp water. Sprider closed his eyes and prayed to the nature god, to help their soul find a new purpose as they had already completed one, helping 'Suke and Sprider in completing the dungeon. Then he opened his eyes and saw their body decaying into nothing. He moved on towards the land 'Suke had tread towards before the fight commenced. He would then stop to see if there would be some bright gems again, for 'Suke to study.
In the wake of death and decay; My heart bleeds to heal yours
Sprider's joking helped ease the tension of this place by miles on the disruptive level of which 'Suke had found this place adhering to on such a finely defined level just while he moved along the grounds with his eyes keeping a relative sight on everything and at the same time he noted the events that had taken over from the ongoing destruction of the first floor's boss room though there was yet another one of Sprider's jokes fashioning themselves with how 'Suke had taken all the fun away by ending it in one shot. 'Suke was still quite pleased with himself for the useful talent of the latest spell yet he knew there were things he'll need to update on his spell book later on due the intensity not being quite at the level he wanted it to be at for such an omnipotent spell that was to be his greatest force on a battle field.
It wasn't long however that he too started to notice the powerful change to the atmosphere and how it was sinking them but as it sunk for them it also rolled a fog in that brought death to the living vegetation around the two magic knights as well as hexing them ever further with the drops in temperature the water gave too. Such a change had to be a cause of the hex that started the entire dungeon in the first place. Or at the very least it was something he could only confide a small percentile of options for why it wouldn't have been a cause while gritting his teeth at the very feel of the chill running through his spine. His added speed had been muted there so he was only moving with his regular pace and he could notice that unlike the other first room of the entire dungeon this second "floor" had an additional ten percent difficulty to walk in.
That at the very least was something he was noticing while Sprider had spoken about how they should make it to the next room before it got any worse from staying in one place too long. It was sound advice and ultimately it was advice that 'Suke would certainly listen to given he could feel the hex was one that tried to affect his mind to a degree as well. It was certainly not one that he was going to enjoy if the feeling in his mind was as overpowering as it could be in its strength to destroy his intellect in some manner of speaking or worse the very ambitious nature that was his own in the revelation of this place only thoroughly going ever more indepth on the decaying mind it was doing to the plant and wild life around them. It cleared up some questions he had about the place's origins at the very least.
Yes, this place was out for blood as far as he could tell and from the few things that did survive, the lightning bugs for necessity and simple frogs with snakes too made for a rather unique ecosystem in his mind as they had moved along towards that first clump of islands. Of course there were creatures here too, and 'Suke could feel around sensing them out yet before he did anything he took kindly to noticing what Sprider said, how he could get to the next room to leave Sprider to take on the snakes of this floor. It was all well and good in his eyes and he could probably understand an individual born of the fighting squad was feelign left out from a healer's control of the last boss room's situation. 'Suke easily moving on ahead by jumping atop one of the anaconda's backs and running along the slimy scales towards the next bundle of islands that would make up the so called second room of this floor.
He noted the well enough disaster of the flooring, it being easily weaker to his weight and the fact that even though it could withstand enough force there was still plenty that could destroy it and with that noted he did relax slightly while his grimoire floated around him while he looked around to see what was alive on this floor or what was not. The feeling he had was ominous, as even though he had felt the decay of the trees he could also feel how alive they were and it was something that told him how they would definitely need to fashion an interesting knowledge out of this place and suitably gain some experience knowledge out of here as he let a hand rest onto the ground and through his mana he sensed out and around himself to feel for what was the cause to such a dread feeling over him.
Once that hand was fashioned into place on the stone and his mind sensed out he felt the two coiling snakes on either side of him, he could feel the circling mana in the sparrows that circled ahead yet the power level of all four of these creatures were secondary at best, better described as intermediate in many respects but he could only fashion and note just how odd these creatures were in their power level as he could sense that they had none. Nothing at all, in fact their power levels were muted, it was an odd feeling over all and he couldn't quite understand why that was while his mind tried finding the source which only went to being a source far away yet the feeling of power that individual possessed had extended out to these creatures as well. And that is how he understood at that point what he was fighting in the hex.
The hex was miasmic in nature and was of a spell type the blond haired and red eyed mage knew only speculation about, it was disastrous to all the flora and fauna in the area and surprisingly enough he could tell what it was doing to humans too. It was something that had them turn on their friends and allies, something that had 'Suke reeling in such discovery as he only smiled and lifted his hand in time to look to his left and right at the two snakes about ready to strike as well as the sparrows ready to just swoop in and get to him and so he figured he was going to have some fun with this and see just how far he could push this feeling inside him on the overpowering of this hex's control on these creatures with a simple hex of his own over the disaster of the opposing forces beyond the veil.
He would not be capable of affecting that area, he knew that much for certain but instead focused on this room and what he could affect in here as his body reacted with a simple bolster in his speed to better situate his feet on how he could maneuver about the grounds as the mana on him generated an easy to feel sense over his toes and the balls of his feet to better move about without being so easily misguided and out of luck on the shifting to and fro from the floor below him yet that also allowed for him to have his grimoire flipping its pages until stopping precariously onto page sixteen, "Shinrin no giman no mure," where his spell traversed over the entire room with variable ease in the fog which only further aided him in the destruction he could cause here for an entire means as out of the forest formed not one or two or even three or four.
No this hex he used had created five total dark green menacing tree folk out of the workings of the forest around them, the ents truly were harmless but the gaze the creatures held to them when feeling just how the pressure of 'Suke's mana was pushing onto them while at the same time the fear and dread he knew such creatures felt on instinct were instead the feelings of whatever hexed this place if they were sensing through these creature's eyes instead and seeing those five ents certainly would make life more interesting as 'Suke only smiled as all five senses these creatures had were hexed away and caught in his clear toying notion while he stepped calmly in his motion with a scrutinizing eye cast over one of the four creatures noting how their speed had dropped a sizable amount. It was clear he wouldn't need to change much on this spell spell at the very least.
Now, to better have a look on it he gazed at the sparrows for a better analysis seeing how prior to the things flew around with an easy twenty five meters per second yet now by his calculation only flew a meager ten meters a second and that was enough for 'Suke to only smile on as that was a speed he knew all well and good was the speed of an amateur fighter or an advanced one with no growth or boost in speed. Something 'Suke had calculated on not becoming in his own advancements as speed was something that just had to be possible for a mage like him, no other reason not to have such speeding notions and make enough matters while he looked at the snakes and their speed had dropped by these exponential amounts too in that same regard. It made 'Suke giddy that these creatures were affected so easily by a clear defining hex over them.
Once all five ents were in place the sparrows tried hurting them instead of focusing on their master given how real the illusion was to the creatures of prior instinct and the witch behind all this feeling the dread and despair hopefully caused by his own illusion. He knew his prowess on control was a disastrous one, that much being of a further note on just how dangerous he enjoyed being to enemies as he smiled while seeing those snakes curl up and strike at nothing but air. The sparrows that flew around slicing with their decaying wings and pecking at a creature made of wood was only hitting things and branches on its own. True, he enjoyed this as much as he could but it had to stop eventually so he let his grimoire come to a close while those ents still remained good and strong from his empowered hexing strength over them.
A simple maneuver, one not requiring flashy movements or the parkour moves of ancients, no instead he only readied his fists on the oncoming strikes he prepared for the creatures that he deemed no longer necessary as he thought to himself a simple line of thinking inspired by his allies of both here and also back in clover for such a simple yet prepared reason, "If they stand behind you, give them protection. If they stand beside you, give them respect. If they stand against you," his fist were a flurry on all four of the creatures as he collectively struck against a timed nerve on each of them with his empowered and gloved fists so that when he dropped down to the ground with his feet touching it for a solid and soft landing for a finishing off the thought, "Show no mercy."
Upon which he noted how he released his clenched fist and all four of the creatures were blown apart to the untrained eye all at the same time. Their blood and bile hitting all the surrounding water but nothing on the islands. Rather he looked back to see Sprider approaching with a smile to his lips as he tugged the looseness of his glove tighter around his hand, "Hope you were able to vent some anger out in that room, though luckily enough I was able to sense our mysterious friend off to the next room. You can handle the boss of this one with ease I believe so to not feel left out." 'Suke teased, a simple smile to his comrade, his ally, his friend in a place as this while his mind sensed no actual shiny creations here yet. Perhaps since they all were of the swamp witches mana it meant she had the heart that shined instead.
Name of Spell: Shinrin no giman no mure (Herd of Ents' Deception) Elemental Type: Plant Spell Rank & Type: Grand | Hex/Sensory Range & Speed: 110 meters AoE | 75 m/s Mana Cost: 40/20 Multi-spec Debuff: -1 power, -1 control Stats Effected: -60% Speed Debuff to "non-allies" Description: In some moment's one must flex their might over others with the power and vestige skill of a man far more capable than they appear. To deceive those around them with the appearance of one's own might. That is what this skill has been created for, by the creation of the illusion of five dark green menacing treefolk standing 15 meters high and 5 meters across behind 'Suke in an ethereal like frame. These "ents" are harmless to anyone that they hit, move into, and so on but rather they are the trigger for those who look upon them to believe they are further real as the ents begin to look, smell, sound, feel, and taste real as the sensory hex targets all five of the senses to make the ents appear real. However, whether the illusion appears real or not (or if it is seen at all for that matter) there appears a feeling of dread and fear in the form of an intense anticipated pressure. The pressure being 'Suke's mana pushing down onto other mana entities deemed as enemies. These effected individuals feel their natural speed drop significantly so long as they are within the user's range. Those who have a control higher than the user's power can break free from the debuffing effects while the illusion requires those not using a sensory spell to have +20 in their sensory stat to see through the Ent. If the targets use a sensory spell of equal rank then they need +5 higher sensory stat (+10 sensory stat for a sensory spell of a rank below).
Sinister Magic: This perk allows debuffs to target multiple people without losing potency.
Illusion Weaver: Those with this perk will now be able to utilize the Illusion Skills from Sensory Spec.
Enigma: Those with this perk can reduce the debuff caused by multispec spells by 2 points + 1 point per rank the user is past junior!
Area of Triumph: This perk allows a person to have their AoE spells to have their max size increased by 10 meters + 5 meters per rank they are starting at junior.
Mana Conservationist: Mana for spells costs you 80% of the original cost. Mana maintenance is reallocated to be 50% of the new spell cost.
Unfortunately, there were no gem stones or heart shining as one this time. So Sprider could not get anything for 'Suke. He sighed and mumbled “Guess i would have to go bare handed.” The boy had not even congratulated him on becoming a Vice captain and the thought never arrived when he saw 'Suke. He shook his head. Oh he better congratulate. That could also confirm whether he really was a vice captain of coral peacocks squad was a rumor or a fact. Sprider did not doubt his ability but he doubted rumors because there were so many. He knew his diamond friend Jett because a vice captain himself and 'Suke being of almost same power has the ability to become one himself.
Sprider sighed as he crossed fifteen meters from his starting point of the old room. He would walk over the islands to meet his pal 'Suke who had taken care of his four enemies already. He tightened his gloves and hoped Sprider was able to vent out his anger. He also teased Sprider that he should take on the next boss room before 'Suke would. He smirked and said “This time, i would not let you any chance to do it.” He was already feeling quite quick, like almost two and a half times than normal knights. He believed he could work on his own for the next boss and probably try to show off his over kill skill like 'Suke did.
He did forge a grand level spell in the past war years, but they have not been put to use. He was not even able to use all of his senior level spells. He hated that neither he could put a big full stop to the diamond military nor he could use the best spells of his arsenal. But this time he would go all out, even if the boss looked something of a senior level, he would just thrash it and its minion into Oblivion and of course pray. He rolled his eyes on the thought. He was seriously getting annoyed by it. Praying because you killed them for your own good and the lord of nature would pardon you because you said sorry. If things were like that, then he would wish to do all wrong things of the world and apologize to the god up there, if there were any.
Sprider would ask 'Suke on their way to the next room, “So you are the new vice captain of Coral Peacocks? Because that is what i heard and forgot back then when we met. So Congratulations Hikaru!” He would place his hand on his shoulder and pressing it, he would add “Your shoulders are well built, is it because of the responsibilities?” He joked because of the saying - taking responsibilities on your shoulder. He did giggle on his own joke. It did not matter much that if his audience would laugh or not. If he was expected to have a good laugh from his own joke, he would never fail to produce it out of his mouth. Something he learned. Focus more on yourself than others. Love yourself, spoil yourself. Do every thing but remember to respect yourself. Something he did not use to do when he was young crimson lion.
He was a depressed kid, running away from his past, waiting for his father to appear out of nowhere even though he knew he would never return. He was physically strong, mentally sharp but lacked in other two qualities namely social and emotional aspects of his personality. He used to refrain social gatherings and was emotionally weak. Crying almost every other night because of nightmares of memories of the past that haunted him for a long period of time. The war years had helped him grow, improve in those aspects. The first step was to visit his house that he had left for almost eight years. It helped him find himself and made him what he was that day.
Bringing his mind back to his current situation, he was in a dungeon. A grove, and he should not let his mind run wild in there. Especially when the plants looked so wild like they would envelope one anytime and strangle one to his death. Suddenly the swamp water looked deep and in between the swamp, was a cluster of ruins. Maybe of a good platform, or a structure, but it was all in ruins right then. They were large enough to be able to hold 'Suke and Sprider but the bridge connecting several ruins were seemingly narrow and could only allow one person to pass on them. The ruins were more than five in number and were spread out in a large area. The area was quite large but not large enough to be not be able to be covered by his grand spell. He smirked as he looked around.
The swamp being deeper would obviously be a trap if he were to get into it. He would have to swim, which was one of many abilities that he lacked. If he were to define swimming, he would define it as punching and kicking the water while you have your mouth open for air, but it would be the water gushing in. You have to keep attacking the wster until your stomach was full of water and you no longer able to float on water and watch yourself die.
No shit, he has faced it in real life. He was never able to swim a few meters without splashing water into his mouth as he gasped for water. He shook his head to come back to reality. He still needed to change his habits on a few things, like going out of phase from time to time. He looked at the blonde guy and said “This time, you watch the second or third strongest lion take charge on the battlefield.”
He was not lying, being for so long years into the lions squad, he has leveled up, in terms of strength and ranking. He was a third class grand magic rank knight at that time and obviously on same levels with Ardere, if not above. Of course, challenging Lysander was still a tough job for him.
Sprider walked onto the first ruin, all alone knowing Hikaru was back on the island grading Sprider. He bumped his fist on to his palm and shouted “Show yourself!” He was proving he was from the shouty fire bois club, a nickname given to his squad by other people. Mostly other jealous people who could not make it into the crimson lion squad but that's that.
He saw a lady come out of the water and float on it. She was no human. She was feminine, checked but some other creature. She looked as if she was a mana infestation of fireflies. She grew bright green in between the whole dull atmosphere that he wanted to thank her, but obviously he could not. She helped him seeing clearly through the mist. Her wild hair were very long and touched her feet while her arms did not look normal. They looked wretched. She was a mess. She was a mixture of all beautiful and ugly traits of a human being. She was someone to be feared. She screamed like sirens would. She would utilize her voice and try to penetrate his mind and want him to dive into the water. Sprider would create an intermediate level crystal shard and use it to protect himself from her voice. It was actually miasma at work. His shard would be able to save him from the misery, thanks to the high durability of his spell.
He saw two crocodiles grazing the surface of the swamp water and looking at their dinner, Sprider. He eyed them back with equal determination because he wished to reach home safe and have dinner. The crocodiles went back into the swamp water out of Sprider’s area of visibility.
His first problem was to deal the witch in front of him. He said “So, what are you?” Her mouth opened again and this time stream of water flew outta it. The pressure was so strong that it could push him into the water, but he ran at the bridge to cross over to another ruin. The bridge he came from was destroyed in the process. The crocodiles had not showed up for a while and that mana witch was sickening.
He asked her “So are you the swamp master?” He asked. There was no reply, just silence. He knew she was going to attack him again. He was ready. He knew what had to be done. He waited for her to strike again and she did. She again used her jet stream water. Being faster than her spell, Sprider ran through another bridge turning it into dust.
He was actually conducting experiment. Whenever the bridge fell apart into water, the crocodiles would show up only to be disappointed by the woods. He was trying to make sure that the two crocodiles would be close to her when he uses his attack. The swamp witch and Sprider would turn it into a routine. He would walk onto a new ruin while she would break the bridge between.
During this whole process, he actually completed a circle and came back to his original ruin. He said “Farewell, swamp witch and your not so beautiful swamp.”
He closed his eyes and then opened them. He shouted “Crystal Creation : Playground!” It did not even take time for crystal pillars of ten meter length to arise out of the water and pierce everything that was in the way. Sprider made it so that it would neither arise from below the plant mage user, nor the crystal mage user. Both the magic knights would be safe as the crystal pillars spaced two meters from each other would easily arise in the whole ruin covered area.
The crocodiles that were inside the swamp were pulled out and hung on the pointed edge of the pillars while the witch was penetrated by so many pillars that all of the mana gradually faded out leaving behind nothing. Sprider closed his eyes and prayed as he was told to.
He then made the crystal pillars burst, giving a spectacle of crystal shower. Something so beautiful that it looked like cherry trees’ leaves falling at the same time. Sprider would walk back to 'Suke and ask “So how did i do?” He would then look at the crocodile splash into the water causing a lot of water to be splashed around. He regretted it because a lot of it also splashed on his clothes. Oh the dirty he was getting from time to time. He asked 'Suke, “Shall we depart before i get anymore dirtier?”
No matter what the coral peacock's vice captain's opinion was, he would be distract by shining gold. He would tap 'Suke’s shoulder and stutter as he spoke “Do you see, what i see?”
A large structure would emerge out of the island on the other side of the swamp which could have been accessed if the bridges had not been destroyed. Sprider scratched the back of his head and said “Do you want to ride a dragon? Because i do not see any alternative.”
After hearing his response, the crystal mage would fabricate a large crystal dragon in the middle of the island and ask Hikaru to sit behind him. Once settled, he would make it fly and using it reach the last island. He would stand in front of the Treasurer Gate and wonder what all were the duo were awarded after taking on each room single handedly. This dungeon was surely a piece of cake for someone like them. He looked back at all the land they have ventured and he thought, 'Wow, we surely can make it out before dinner. With this treasure gate. It means we can finally go home.” He cracked his neck and looked at the pile of gold and wonder if there were an item just behind the treasure gate.
In the wake of death and decay; My heart bleeds to heal yours
'Suke had analyzed the youthful man's attention in this fight with a certain zeal to his eyes as he was interested and curious all at the same time. Of course it wasn't long before he noted a question coming his way and it was there he only smiled with a nod of humble mentions as he rubbed the back of his head, "Indeed I am the Vice Captain of the Coral Peacocks, and thanks. I guess I didn't really notify many people of my advancement in my squad." He chuckled lightly because in fact he truly did forget to do such a thing over all. Yet soon the joke after wards was brought out and it was something 'Suke didn't expect but chuckled lightly at when noting the hand on his shoulders. It was a curious thing but he only smiled thinking of a certain white haired girl he carried every now and then outside the library when finding her passed out.
"You could say responsibilities, I merely think its something that naturally happens when carrying value in your arms." He played the poetic words here just as he did anywhere else. Meanings behind meanings, hints behind hints, and words behind words. It was something of a maze for himself too but he knew the maze better than anyone. However soon they made it to the ruins and 'Suke managed to stay fully out of the way and just watch as Sprider did what he did over all of this. It was a curious fight, and it seemed that the boy was playing more than fighting for a good portion to question and gauge abilities by the looks of it and it was something 'Suke had a rather decent grasp on the subject of while he kept an eye on such things.
His question coming towards 'Suke had him curious and he nodded there bore a moment as he smiled with a hand going to the boy's hair as he ruffled it like a father would do to a son. "You did well. I would probably suggest that you not allow an enemy to ever gather up their forces or power to throw a punch your way but from what I saw here and from what four years ago was like in the gambling city you have definitely grown." 'Suke smiled, he was proud that his friend had improved so well, and yet couldn't help but laugh when asked about departing before getting any dirtier. That was still the childish side to his friend and he knew that wasn't going to disappear anytime soon which only had him smiled with a nod, "Sure, I don't mind. Just drop me off outside so I can collect my tent and everything."
Really it wouldn't cost a lot of time in his mind to do what he needed but the dungeon was rather easy and truly they were bound to get out of here with the fastest record possible. Back before dinner, truly they were and they were all the better for it as he recalled the encampment at the training dungeon at Nairn and then proceeded to look at Sprider as he spoke, "Get in touch with your captain and I'll do the same for mine. We can get a joint group of Coral Peacocks and Crimson Lions to head this as our next training dungeon I think. The one we current have our two squads head is perhaps underwhelming when it comes to how the hexes of this place naturally test your comrades and your own tantamount ties," Yes, 'Suke could see this being the next phase to their newest recruit's training. After saying his good byes 'Suke would proceed to hike his way through the wild lands, back to his home in the deepest section where he raised himself, but that is something for another time's depiction...
