“Kuroko, it is good seeing you. Unfortunate circumstances though I’m afraid.”
She nodded at the words, amber eyes looking thinly opening as she looked away from him. Her manicured fingernails tapped lightly on her chair’s armrest as she let out another sigh. “It wouldn’t be a proper get together unless the world was ending now would it?” Kingdoms upon the Apex of War… Unfortunate circumstances was the lightest term for it. As the sunlight streamed in, glowings rays lit up on her exposed skin. And of course, she was a beauty for the next man to see, the red haired giant known as Captain of the Crimson Lion made his presence very well known. Kuroko flashed him a knowing smile as he sat beside her, though perhaps even the most brawn of the them all could read the tension in the room.
A testing time, for all Captains certainly.
As they filed in, familiar faces one after another. Wren as always being his chipper self, Jagen entering with the utmost grace, their youngest Captain, Glenda, nonetheless still skipping along. Most noticeably was the change in Arthur… Ever since Argentia had been proclaimed missing, his demeanor was less than inviting. Kuroko remained silent, the Wizard King’s nephew had once been a surrogate son of her own, due to her closeness with Nero. But, Arthurius was no longer a child and just like those days in the Black Bull, some memories seemed like a lifetime ago. The change was even noted by Barron of all people.
“Che che che… somebody is all serious these days.”
Manicured fingers continuing tapping the armrest, her presence simply enough for most of the Captains to respect her. And soon enough, the apparent last stragglers would come in. Lazuli’s own lateness a bit of a surprise, but what was the most unexpected was the appearance of Silver Eagle's own Vice Captain. Nicodemus Silva.
Kuroko knew of his background, mixed heritage, his mother coming from the Land of the Sun, such as the Black Bull Captain herself. She even spotted those dual katanas he wore at his side just as Nero seemed to notice his words were as sharp as his blades. She did have to smile, the Silva’s reputation far preceded him from ‘just another noble.’ He was either amazingly brave or just rather bravely stupid. It seemed most fitting that Lysander would be the one to bite all other comments before any real bickering out begin.
But with such pleasantries out of the way, Nero decided to begin the meeting. Kuroko listened as she sat straighter, nodding at intermittent times. She surely agreed, after being beaten at their own game for so long, it was now a better time than ever to go on the offensive. Two targets named, two to focus on after Lysander’s and Jagen’s defeat of Elizabeth. It was unfortunate that such things had been allowed to continue, that it was only just now that they were finally getting such information. Ideas came forth for ways to deal with the pair. Lysander’s call for them to act their age, to act like Magic Knights for the sake of their Kingdom… such inspiring words from her oldest friend.
“Well… don’t let an old lady like me ruin your fun.” The pause came as expected, her words smooth and clear. “I have a few capable Knights of my own, but as they always say… the next generation is supposed to surpass the current one. We stand together, we stand strong for what these clover leaves stand for. It's an oath we all took and a reminder in every time we salute. Watanabe, my Vice Captain, and I can help with assaults on known Diamond Strongholds in the Fringe region. And I’m sure that Hannibal, you’d love to help us reclaim what should rightfully be our own in the Forsaken Region. The two of us should be enough to draw them out while we have those teams focus on these two.”
Crossing her legs in an elegant fashion, the makeup of such a task force, of course, had been suggested by Lysander, but the woman smiled, coming up an idea all her own. “But regarding the makeup of these ‘elite forces,’ hm, how say we see fit a time to reinstall a one that hasn’t been in use for a while now? Though perhaps we’d still need permission from Her Majesty?” She turned back to Nero, as if already knowing what he could suggest. The implementation of ‘Royal Knights’ was a but a suggestion, but an elite task force made of intersquad members would more than represent the bond of teamwork that the Order needed to portray more than ever.
