Jett watched as the man face transformed from pained to resignation, he had no intentions of giving Jett the information he required. A swell of mana formed and before Jett could make sense of it, the man had killed himself. It was a shock to the system, causing Jett to lose his grip falling back to sit on the grass. Sadness began to overwhelm him as he realised the two were still no closer to saving the children as they had promised. Jett turned to face Sprider and for the first time took in his appearance, wearing nothing but a pair of pants. ”Do I even want to know why you are not dressed?” Jett asked the crystal mage, unsure as to where they would go next. Ebony Raven was still a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma. They had no idea who they were, they didn’t know who they answered to, they didn’t know where to find them and, most importantly, they didn’t know where they took the kids. It was then that Jett noticed the Ebony Raven robe begin to dissolve, as if responding the man’s faded life force. It made sense, they wanted to keep themselves hidden from the world. What was under the dark robe was surprising, a bright red, crimson lion robe.

Sprider was still kicking dust when he was questioned by Jett upon his attire. He said “It was not my fault that this man interrupted my sleep.” He shook his head. Also to clarify things, he added “I normally sleep like this, under covers.” He had flipped and looked at Jett when he spoke the last few words. The two looked at the Ebony Raven mage as something supernatural happened. The robe of the ninja mage began to dissolve. It gave some red color cloth beneath his ebony raven robe. Guess he liked red colored clothes. Sprider thought. He wished they had more information about them. The universe responded to his thoughts. In a few seconds the cloth under the robe was visible and it made Sprider gasp in horror. He went towards the dead body and held the crest of the robe tightly to see if it was a fake. He even tried to pull it out by force but could not. It was original. It was an actual crimson lion robe. Sprider fell down on his knees and placed his ass on his legs, sitting in Vajrasana, destroyed. He even placed his hands covering his nose as he watched the crimson lion robe wearing ebony raven mage. It made Sprider run his mind.
The situation could mean two things, either he was a crimson lion knight or he had killed one and wore his robe inside. But why would he? He was so strong and looked fearless. Even in the time of despair and death, he did not bother to feel sorry. He was a strong person, physically and mentally. He would just not wear a crimson lion robe as a disguise. Sprider looked at Jett and expressed, “Is this what it looks like it is?” He paused and pursed his lips. He added “He is from my squad. He is a crimson lion.” He looked back at the figure’s head as it slowly made him think that he had seen the face before. He did not want to believe it, but his mind opened up a memory when he first joined the squad. The face looked similar to the person who was amongst the group who congratulated him and gave him a guard of honor for fun. He looked at Jett for words because his own mouth was too dry to produce anymore.

The shock of the crimson robe seem to hit Sprider much harder than it did Jett but the whole situation seemed to make even more sense. Sprider’s get up was due to him being attack in his sleep, the very nature of the attack prompted a memory of Jett’s to resurface. It wasn’t an old memory, rather it was almost brand new. The reason Jett forgot about it so quickly was due to him believing it a nightmare, a way his body had woken him up in response to the trouble that Sprider was in. That wasn’t the reality though. Ebony Raven had began to act much more aggressive, trying to have the both of them killed inside their own rooms. Based on the crimson lion robe on the mage, Jett could only assume it to be real and deduct that their previous warnings of the ebony mages being everywhere was true. In fact, Jett now believed that each member of the shadow veiled squad was made up of various members of the squads, only choosing to don the raven mantle when necessary. This all meant that their colleagues really could not be trusted and that any of the captains could be in the squad, or perhaps leading it.
Sprider’s confusion, or refusal to accept the truth, took form in him looking to Jett for the answers. Jett felt for the crystal mage but had no intentions of coddling him from the truth. ”It looks real to me but you would be able to tell more than I. Remove the mask, perhaps you may recognise him.” Jett contemplated telling Sprider of the shadowed image that hung above him as he awoke, a possible second agent out for their assassination. Jett left his partner to decide whether he recognised the ninja but thought it best to tell him of his experience. ”I don’t think he is the only one. I dismissed it as a dream, my subconscious awaking me to your danger, but I believe someone was making an attempt on my life whilst I slept. We were warned that Ebony Raven were everywhere. I believe they’re hidden in plain sight, walking amongst us, even sharing the same robes.” Jett turned to Sprider. ”The people we can trust are now more limited than before. We need to take these out once and for all. We need to contact those we can trust, those that can handle the danger that comes with being involved with Ebony Raven. Once we have the information and allies we need, we can take down this corrupt organisation for good!”

Sprider did not want to accept anything. Jett told him that the cloak looked hundred percent real and asked him to look if the man could be recognized. He also told about someone trying to assassinate him while he was asleep. He mentioned those ebony raven s sharing the same squads as them. Being a small yet effective group, they could easily hide those ravens of their inside the squads. They could do so much under the umbrella that protects them from the sight of the Wizard King and the Captains that he realized they can easily hide their minions. Jett talked about taking the whole organization down for once and for all. Sprider’s first steps after hearing all this were towards the raven mage. He took off his mask to find a face that he had seen before. It was the face of a senior knight he had been involved with before. He sighed and told Jett “ I have seen this man in the lions squad since i joined them.” He did not speak any further. His silence was his weapon. He was so tired of getting targeted every now from the ravens that he wanted to end things for once and for all. He said “Asking help from people I trust, well there are few but it can be done.” He remembered Ardere and Willow were few to name. Also ‘Suke from Coral Peacock can play the support role. He looked at Jett with fiery eyes of determination and asked “So what is the plan? How can we find their location?”

Their worst case scenario had played out, Sprider knew the assassin, as would Jett probably have known his had he got a chance to reveal their identity. It was sad but it was a position they were in, it was time they put an end to but how? The same question that Sprider asked. He did have an idea, and an idea that could work. There were moral obligations that made the whole thing risky but the payoff would be perfect. Jett kicked the assassin once more, making sure he truly was dead. Happy he was, Jett spoke of his plan to Sprider. ”I have a plan but…” The dark side of his plan disturbed him, making him question if he should voice it at all. It was a case of one evil for the greater good but that was the basis of what Ebony Raven had based their whole organisation upon. ”..This plan isn’t pretty and I don’t really agree with it but I believe it’ll work. We will find their location and I will enter their base, from there, I will have to escape without detection. If I can’t do this, then the plan fails.” Jett had told Sprider the plan without the key details that would make this all possible. Leaving out this detail wasn’t a mistake, he was ashamed of thinking it, building a plan around it and, more than anything, asking Sprider to go along with it. ”To get this opportunity however…” Again Jett paused, putting off speaking the words he never wanted to leave his lips, keeping them confide in the safety of his mind. ”…We need to let a child get kidnapped.” Jett let what he said sink in with Sprider, he knew it could be hard to take, he himself was having a hard time coming to terms with the plan. ”This won’t be some talent child, we can’t wait for that to happen, nor can we trust that we would find that child before Ebony Raven. We have to make this child seem like it filled with power, keeping by them at all times while remaining hidden from the members of Ebony Raven. We need to convince everyone we’re going away for awhile, so our disappearance won’t be questioned, perhaps we have travelled to a dungeon somewhere. Once everyone believes we are gone, we’ll augment a child with our power, unknown to anyone, monitoring that kid. Once Ebony Raven turns up, I will follow them through their portal, to their base of operations.” If he was caught at any point, it would spell his death being surrounded by their mages. He knew the danger but it had to be done. Sprider couldn’t join him, two mages of their power would be sensed easily. If Jett could escape and find exactly where it the base was in the kingdom, they could storm it later with the help of their trusted allies.

“The hell Jett.” Sprider shouted at his friend. “Putting up a bait like this? Sacrificing a child.” He put his palm on his face and nodded in disapproval. He ran his hands through the hair and said “This can not be out last chance. There is another way that.. We are not just aware of.. There should be..” his voice trailed off into a soft one. His mind showed him visuals of his past. He moment some men put his knife through his mother’s body like it was some thing to use and throw away to them. He could never support Jett in his aim. Never. Using some little boy who is too innocent as a bait. It would never work with Sprider around. Since their life was on the line, it was evident that if they came to know about it, the child would be the first thing they would target. The plan was a lot risky for the child’s life and sprider will not aid his diamond friend on this matter.
Sprider slowly calmed his mind down. He needed to think it clearly. There were so many more life on the line that he should see the bigger picture. He sighed and said “I am okay. I think we can do this.” he knew that if something were to happen to the child he can never forgive himself. He took the risk for the greater good. He would look at the sun breaking through the horizon and bringing a new day in everyone’s life. He would look at Jett for his response.

Jett understood all too well Sprider’s response, he could barely believe the idea himself, even more so that he was the one who had suggested it. It was true that they would be using a child as bait but he was in no way ready to sacrifice the kid. No, never that, their goal was to use they kid to save all the others that they could. Still, Jett didn’t voice any of this, he could see the inner turmoil Sprider was going through. Jett, instead, left Sprider to find his own answer. The diamond mage would not force his friend to go through with his morally ambiguous plan, his own soul would be forever tainted by going through with it, regardless of if it worked or not. After a short while, Sprider took a deep breath and told Jett we was okay with it. The comment made Jett happy but kind of saddened him at the same time. With the help of Sprider he knew he could get it done but was it worth tainting his friend the same way he was. ”Okay, good. But let’s get one thing straight. We are not sacrificing anybody under any circumstances. If it ever seems like the child or it’s parents would die, we pull out. No exceptions.” Jett bent down and lifted the crimson lion, or ebony raven, mage on to his shoulder. ”Come on. We’ll report back to the crimson lion base, we’ll tell the captain we found this guy on the edge of the kingdom. His dying breath telling us of a dungeon springing up in the free land outside the boarder. As senior knights, we should be able to claim the dungeon for ourselves, that’ll be our cover.” Jett knew they had to find some valid excuse to why there was a dead magic knight, despite his life choices, he probably had a family who deserve to get closure from his death, not wondering what happened to him when he disappeared.
