“Like a Rose Petal in the Wind, watch me Soar.”
Rosalia could only stare in awe at the sheer amount of people that had gathered around her. There were both citizens and Magic Knights surrounding the perimeter, yet, few of them seemed to be shoving or pushing. Most of them just stared ahead.
The red-head could recognize the expressions on the faces of people surrounding her- excitement, nervousness, worry…Some of the non-knighted wizards seemed to even be sweating. Rosalia wiped a hand over her forehead. She didn’t know what to feel, but due to the expression on her fellow squad member’s faces earlier, the crimson-haired female had also broken out in cold sweat.
There were few whispers in the air, but it seemed that most people just waited for the Wizard King to speak.
And there he was.
Ruby eyes widened a bit as she watched an unfamiliar man step up to address all of the people that had gathered around. She could feel the shift in the air that the man caused simply by greeting everyone. All of the unfamiliar bodies that were standing beside her seemed to suddenly attain a quality of concentration. The mage had never seen anybody have that much presence…
The Wizard King spoke to Magic Knights and Citizens alike, and Rosalia listened, soaking every word she heard the man say. At this moment she couldn’t yet process the information she was being told; the wind that she was so used to feeling seemed to be inactive at the moment. It was almost as if the nature in the capital itself had stopped moving. And would it? If it had just been told it might be dead by tomorrow?
The common lady shook her head at her own morbid thoughts and continued to listen to the Wizard King’s plan. He too would be participating and helping the other wizards in the country stop a giant weaponized palace controlled by the Diamond Kingdom. She, as a Magic Knight, would have to storm a level of the palace and try her best to overwhelm it alongside other allies. This didn’t seem like too hard of a job, but then again, Rosalia barely had any combat experience. She lacked the knowledge to decipher an easy opponent from a difficult one. She just knew that Vulkan was really strong and that she needed to work harder to improve her magic.
These thoughts were wiped out however when the Wizard King stated that many of the people participating might die.
Rosalia felt a cold shiver run down her spine at this thought. The woman had just become a Magic Knight…. She had passed her Magic Knight Exams…I don’t want to risk dying…
No…Right now, her own death was the least of her problems. There were thousands of people who she had to do her best to protect. The mage pinched herself as she saw the Wizard King salute the mages, and she quickly returned the gesture. It was new to her…unfamiliar… but it felt right. It felt right, just like protecting people did.
